Wiscasset downtown project update
From a Maine Department of Transportation email:
Pike Industries has completed excavating and rebasing the roadway on Railroad Avenue, from the fire hydrant at the end of the guardrail to the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Water Street. Pike expects to install drainage on Railroad Avenue in the next two weeks.
The week of July 1, Pike plans to remove the curb on Route 1 in preparation for the work on the new entrance to the Red's Eats dining area next to the river. This work will require alternating, one-way traffic at night.
The week of July 8, Pike plans to continue drainage work on Railroad Avenue and remove the guardrail at the Red's Eats dining area. A new guardrail will be installed further up the bridge.
All scheduling is weather dependent and subject to change. All work is being conducted between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Bright lights, noise, and temporary road changes, can be expected.
