Wiscasset students got sun for their first morning back to school Tuesday. Desiree and Josh Bailey saw off daughter Emma, 9, at Wiscasset Elementary School for her first day in fourth grade.
School personnel met students near the entrance. Kindergarten educational technician Pam Freeman greeted a student from last year, now a first grader, Taytay Wright, 6. Wright and sister Makynlee, 7, starting second grade, arrived with their mother Lisa Pettis.
Freeman was excited school was starting, she said. "This is a great group of kids and I think this should be a great school year."
