Wiscasset High prepares for 2014 Spring Gallery of the Arts show
Wiscasset High School's annual spring concert and art show, known as the Spring Gallery of the Arts, is on Thursday, May 22.
The art show opens at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by the junior class. The art show features work from the art students in this year's art classes under the tutelage of Shalimar Poulin, with 2-D and 3-D art ranging from art pencil drawings to photography to sculpture and more.
The concert will feature the concert band and choir and a few soloists. The band will perform a few songs including "God Bless the USA" and an arrangement of "Amazing Grace." The choir will sing a song called "Dry your tears, Afrika" from “Amistad” and the recently released "Pompeii" by Bastille among their performances. The music groups are directed by Molly Winchenbach.
Additionally, the Spring Gallery of the Arts concert will include the tradition of music and art award presentations. It is sure to be a fantastic evening to music, art and celebration.
