Wiscasset Public Schools K-12 Spring Art Show
The entire community is invited to view student works that showcase the Wiscasset Public Schools K-12 art curriculum in an exhibition at the Maine Art Gallery on Warren Street, Wiscasset. A reception to honor the student artists will be held on Friday, April 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The K-12 Spring Art Show will be open on three successive weekends: April 15-16, April 22-23, and April 29-30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art teachers Liz Proffetty and Shalimar Chase have assembled 100 pieces of work created by students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
The Maine Art Gallery has a history of partnering with schools in Lincoln County to show art. However, the Covid pandemic brought a halt to the program in 2019. The non-profit gallery located in the historic Old Academy building is pleased to be able to resume the shows this year.
