Wiscasset announced the following via its textmygov service Tuesday, July 2:

The town office and town facilities will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of the (Fourth of July) holiday. The parade will take place at 10 a.m. Churchill Street, Hooper Street, Federal Street from Hooper to Route One, Route One between Federal and Water Street and Water Street to the town landing will be closed during the parade.

Expect heavy traffic delays. Seek alternative routes.
