Due to the predicted snowstorm, Wiscasset School Department schools are closed today, Thursday, Feb. 9, Superintendent of Schools Heather Wilmot said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., the National Weather Service at www.weather.gov was listing a winter storm warning in effect from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with snow accumulations of six to 10 inches and winds 10 to 20 mph gusting to 30 mph.

Thursday’s closure was the third time this week the weather has impacted school for Wiscasset. Schools were closed Tuesday and had a delayed opening Wednesday.
