A Wiscasset woman was hurt and facing new charges after a crash into Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office late Saturday night. About 11:42 p.m. Saturday, Wiscasset Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported crash near the intersection of Routes 1 and 27.  

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by Kristin Crowley, 35, was southbound on Route 27 and traveled straight through the intersection, crossing Route 1, leaving the roadway and running directly into the front door of the Sheriff’s Office.  

The crash pushed the entry door in and the car was stopped by an interior lobby railing. Both of the car’s airbags deployed.  

Crowley then fled the scene on foot and was apprehended by Wiscasset Officer Jonathan Barnes on Federal Street at about 11:55 p.m. Crowley was taken to Lincoln Health in Damariscotta, treated for non-life threatening injuries, released from the hospital and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.  

Crowley has been charged with operating under the Influence, violation of conditions of release and leaving the scene of an accident. She had been free on bail for her alleged involvement in the Nov. 27 Maxwell’s Market robbery.  

Wiscasset police and sheriff’s deputies had help from a Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit and Maine State Police.  Wiscasset EMS and fire departments also helped at the scene.
