Second Congregational Church, UCC in Newcastle will celebrate Women's Sunday on March 13 as part of UCC Women's Week. The theme is “Plant Healing,” and for the sermon, three women, Terri Taylor, Phyllis Ives and Bobsy Dudley-Thompson, will share the stories of women whose ministry of healing touched their lives and that of the world. The Women's choir will share the gifts of music. The scripture will be the story of Ruth and Naomi, and Mary who anointed Jesus with oil.  

The church’s interim pastor, Rev. Allison Smith’s theme this Lent has been based on a series, “Plant Justice,” “Plant Repentance,” and “Plant Reconciliation.”
