Woolwich closes town office to public
Until further notice, the Woolwich Municipal building is closed to the public. The selectboard made the decision Wednesday afternoon, March 18 as a COVID-19 precaution.
Town Administrator Kim Dalton said the office staff will still be working at the municipal building but only to answer the phones and process payments. The hours to call are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The closure will remain in effect until further notice, she added.
“We’ll continue to post updates on the town’s electronic sign on Route 1 and also on our website,” said Selectmen’s Chair David King Sr. “People can telephone the town office for help or information at (207) 442-7094 during the hours the office is staffed but until further notice the lobby in the municipal building is closed to the general public.”
Residents can re-register their vehicle online and re-register, boats, ATVs and snowmobiles and do hunting and fishing licenses. April property tax payments made be mailed to the town office or placed in a drop box at the front entrance of the municipal building.
