Yard sale at Segerstrom Preserve
Find a vintage treasure and support a local preserve! The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT) invites community members of all ages to find a little piece of history at its first and only yard sale. The sale is at KELT’s Carl and Barbara Segerstrom Preserve at Squam Creek, Westport Island on Saturday, July 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include a wide array of offerings from the old Dunton farmhouse including vintage bed frames, wooden tables, chairs, and a wide assortment of books and vinyl records. All proceeds will go towards protecting the wildlife and caring for trails on the Segerstrom preserve.
The 159-acre preserve is one of the largest undeveloped coastal parcels remaining on Westport Island. The property boasts 3,300 feet of shoreline along Squam Creek and protects significant wetland habitats, deer wintering habitats and historic cellar holes and cemeteries. The property is near the historical center of town and the trail system highlights remaining stone foundations and rock walls while providing extensive recreational opportunities.
