Friends book sale Oct. 12-13
As the daylight hours shrink, it’s time to curl up with a good book during the long fall and winter nights. The Friends of Wiscasset Public Library are offering a wonderful opportunity to stock up on your reading material. Their Used Book Room will be the site of a half price book sale on Friday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The book store, named Second Hand Prose, is located on the lower level of the Library, and during the sale can be entered directly by following the red brick sidewalk from the street to the patio. (The Library Trustees also sell inscribed bricks, which are then inserted into the walkway – just inquire at the desk.)
There are lots of books in every genre: fiction, biography, history, mystery, western, science fiction, Maine and New England, etc. and also a large collection of CDs. Normal prices of $3 for Hardcover, $2 for Trade Paperback, and $1 for Mass Market Paperbacks will all be reduced by 50 percent during the sale. CDs and audio books will also be only $.50 during the sale.
The Friends plan to fund some major updates in the Children’s Room this year, so come support this fundraiser which will benefit our very popular and well used Children’s area, while helping to clear the shelves for our Children’s Christmas Sale and new donations. The bargains are fantastic!
