Nobleboro man arrested in Edgecomb on charges in theft of antique auto
Lincoln County Sheriff's Office arrested Brian Cookson, 53, of Nobleboro Friday morning in Edgecomb on charges relating to the theft of an antique automobile earlier this year in Nobleboro.
Cookson was arrested without incident on charges of Burglary, class B and Theft, class C. The charges stem from an intensive investigation into the theft of a 1930 Ford Model A from a garage in Nobleboro in June. The value of the vehicle is approximately $10,000.
LCSO detectives recently located and recovered the vehicle in Rhode Island where it had been sold to an unsuspecting third party. The vehicle was recovered intact.
Cookson was transported to and booked at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. He was later released on $2,000 cash bail with the conditions of no contact with the victim or other witnesses, no possession of burglar’s tools, and he is subject to search for burglar’s tools.
