Philip O. Gregory III
Philip Orson Gregory III passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 6, 2018 at home with his family at his side.
He was born March 5, 1964 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor, the son of Sarah Giles and the late Philip Gregory Jr. Philip attended Boothbay schools and graduated from Hyde School where he was a star cross country runner. After graduation he moved to Los Angeles to study sound and lighting and later returned to work in the family restaurant where his love for cooking began. He cooked in many restaurants most recently Robinson's Wharf in Southport.
Philip was predeceased by his father, Philip Gregory Jr; his grandparents, Dr Philip and Grace Gregory and Clyde and Sally Hodgdon Jones.
Survivors include his mother, two step-fathers, Craig Giles and George Bourette; sisters Rachel Leeman and husband Christopher, Stephanie Hawke and husband Andy; nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Lelia and Andrew Hawke and Hannah and Stephanie Leeman; his aunts, Martha Holbrook, Rachel Jones and husband James; uncles Jonathan Jones and Gary Starankewicz; as well as great niece Eloise Sarah Hawke.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the East Boothbay United Methodist Church.
