Shop for Maine-made crafts at this third annual juried show, held in the historic barn and garden at Nickels-Sortwell House. Enjoy the work of some of Maine’s most talented and unique crafters. Whether you’re looking for a special gift or a personal treasure, you’re sure to find something to love. Part of the proceeds benefit Historic New England.

Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission to the show is free. Tours of Nickels-Sortwell House will be offered on the half hour from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tour admission is $8/adults, $7/seniors, $4/students. Historic New England members, Wiscasset residents and U.S. military and their families are free.

Nickels-Sortwell House began life as the trophy home of shipping magnate Captain William Nickels at the height of Wiscasset’s fortunes as a thriving seaport in 1807. It was purchased in 1899 by successful industrialist and former mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Alvin Sortwell, as a summer home for his large and active family. Mayor Sortwell’s wife Gertrude and daughter Frances lovingly restored the house over the years, decorating and furnishing it in the Colonial Revival style.

Nickels-Sortwell House offers a warm and intimate picture of life in the Gilded Age through the early 20th century, when Wiscasset was a charmed summer getaway filled with relaxation, yachting and entertaining. FMI visit www.HistoricNewEngland.org.
