Aging in Place Forum will bring experts, speakers to Midcoast
Spectrum Generations is partnering with Inn Along the Way to host the Aging in Place Forum on Thursday, Sept. 12. This year’s forum will focus on Respecting Choices: Caregiver and Parent Empowerment, and will be held at Inn Along the Way, 741 Main St, Damariscotta, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Dora Anne Mills, followed by breakout sessions provided by Lisa Steele-Maley, Dr. Marilyn Gugliucci, Marcia DeGeer, Rick Bisson, and conclude with a plenary session by Steve Raymond of Lincoln Homes.
The Aging in Place Forum is designed to present a sensible and realistic understanding of the aging process for the loved one and their support system, dispel common myths, and highlight some of the common issues related to aging in place. The day will offer strategies and resources for having – what can often be – difficult conversations about care, living arrangements, and last wishes, while the aging family member is still healthy. Attending the forum will help individuals and families navigate what is often misunderstood and feared about aging.
Thanks to the generous support provided by Colby & Gale, Dead River Company, Dow’s Furniture, Mid-Coast Energy Systems, Carol Harper and Associates, LincolnHealth, Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, and The Cheney Financial Group this event is free, but all wishing to attend must pre-register through Dawn Moore at 207-563-1363 or dmoore@spectrumgenerations.org
Lunch will be provided by Cohen on the Meadows Catering.
