Edith Farnham
Edith Farnham, 87, of Boothbay Harbor passed away peacefully Oct. 17, 2019 at Midcoast Hospital with family and close friends by her side.
Edith was born in Boothbay on Feb. 13, 1932 to Clifton and Floris Williams. She graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 1951 and married her sweetheart Merle “Teaver” Farnham in 1964. They had one son, Gary, whom they adored.
She worked 14 years as a telephone operator in Bath and then at Boothbay Region Elementary School where she enjoyed interacting with students the most. She cleaned houses and did lobster bakes with her friend Sharon Rice. Edith worked at St. Andrews Village up until she was 85 years old, where residents and staff all looked forward to seeing her smiling face every day.
Edith loved her family and friends and enjoyed bus trips to old town to play bingo, traveling to Florida and most of all just hanging out and having fun. She treasured her granddaughters Kirstie and Kaylee and her great-grandson Isaac. Edith loved spending time with them all.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years just a month prior.
She is survived by her brother Robert Williams, son Gary and his wife Michelle, grandchildren Kirstie and Kaylee, great grandson Isaac, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Oceanview Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
