“Ford V Ferrari” - (Rated PG-13, 2 hours, 32 minutes) - Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in this film based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the Le Mans Race in France in 1966. “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” - (Rated PG, 1 Hour, 48 minutes) - Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in  a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America's most beloved neighbor. Playing at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 23;  at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21; 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

JRR Tolkien book set give-away - Stories to Screen Program – Free screenings of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy  will take place after free copies of the books on which the movies are based are passed out to the community. The upcoming book giveaway of a complete special edition set (one set per family, please) will be on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 9 a.m. – while supplies last!

“White Christmas” (1954; 2 hours) - Free screening - Get in the holiday spirit with a special screening of Irving Berlin's “White Christmas” at the Lincoln Theater! A successful song-and-dance team of two war vets become romantically involved with a sister act and team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general. “The Good Liar” - (R; 1 hour, 49 minutes) - Career con man Roy (Ian McKellen) sets his sights on his latest mark: recently widowed Betty (Helen Mirren), worth millions. And he means to take it all. But as the two draw closer, what should have been another simple swindle takes on the ultimate stakes. The legendary actors star together on screen for the first time in this suspenseful drama about the secrets people keep and the lies they live. “Zathura: A Space Adventure” - (PG; 1 hour, 41 minutes) - Stories to Screen - Free - An old and forgotten game develops magical powers in this fantasy for the whole family. Twelve-year-old Walter Budwing (Josh Hutcherson) and his younger brother, Danny (Jonah Bobo), figure they're going to be in for a boring time when their father (Tim Robbins), who was supposed to spend the day with them, is suddenly called away on business, and gives them strict orders not to leave the house. Walter, who doesn't have much use for Danny, is motivated by boredom more than anything else when he agrees to play a board game Danny has found in the basement during a round of hide-and-seek. “Great Composers: In Search of Beethoven” - (2 hours, 18 minutes) - Addresses the romantic myth that Beethoven was a heroic, tormented figure battling to overcome his tragic fate of deafness and who searched for his ‘immortal beloved’ but remained unmarried. It delves beyond the image of the tortured, bad-tempered, unhinged personality, to reveal someone quite different and far more interesting, bringing together the world’s leading performers and experts on Beethoven to reveal new insights into this legendary composer.  Playing Saturday, Dec. 21 at 1 p.m.  Tickets: $15 adult, $13 members, and $5 youth 18 and under.

“The Nutcracker” - (2 hours, 30 minutes) - The Bolshoi Ballet - The mysterious Drosselmeyer brings a Nutcracker doll as a Christmas Eve gift for his goddaughter Marie. At midnight, the doll comes to life and finds himself in a battle led with the Mouse King, while Marie watches in fear. The Bolshoi’s magical Nutcracker production captivates audiences of all ages and brings them on whirlwind journey of enchantment with rising star Soloist Margarita Shrainer perfectly embodying Marie’s innocence and joy along with the supremely elegant Principal Dancer Semyon Chudin as her Nutcracker Prince.
