Annual seed swap in Waldoboro Jan. 25
The fifth annual Seed Swap & Saving Seeds Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Knox & Lincoln Counties Extension office, 377 Manktown Road in Waldoboro (snow day, Saturday, Feb. 1). Master Gardener volunteer Jean Vose begins the workshop with a short slide show covering the history of and reasons for saving seeds. Discussion and questions are welcomed during the presentation. The swap will begin at the conclusion of the slide show presentation.
This workshop is free and open to the public. One does not need to bring seeds to participate in the swap. Coffee, tea and light refreshments are served and one can bring a favorite item to share.
Please do not bring seed collected from hybrid plants, as they won't grow true to type (and no GMO seed). DO bring perennial, annual or biennial seeds with growing instructions; ex. full sun, moist soil, shade, etc. Bring flower, herb or vegetable seeds.
