Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On July 23, Cory P. Hodgdon, 18, of Wiscasset was issued a summons for Minor Possessing Liquor, on Townline Road, Boothbay, by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
Recent Accidents
On July 19, an accident occurred on The Kings Highway in Newcastle involving Paige Verney, 19, of Newcastle and Timothy S. Bailey, 45, of Damariscotta. Mr. Bailey was operating his 1997 Ford F250 southbound on the West Old County Road, approaching The Kings Highway. Ms. Verney was operating her 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on The Kings Highway approaching West Old County Road. Verney stopped at the stop sign but was too far out into the intersection. As Bailey passed her vehicle, the two collided. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On July 20, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Pamela L. Brooks, 58, of Charlevoix, Mich. and Tanner J. Billis, 27, of Bozeman, Mont. Ms. Brooks, operating a 2003 Mercedes-Benz and Mr. Billis, operating a 1996 Toyota Corolla, were both traveling south on Wiscasset Road. Billis stopped quickly for a vehicle that made a sudden stop in front of him. Brooks was unable to stop before striking the rear bumper of Billis’ vehicle. Det. Robert McFetridge was the investigating officer.
On July 20, an accident occurred on Cross Road in Alna involving Amy R. Roberts, 32, of Wiscasset. Ms. Roberts was operating her 2008 Ford Taurus northbound when she struck a truck tire chalk in the roadway. The chalk caused damage to the undercarriage of her vehicle, disabling it. As a result, her vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The owner of the chalk has not been located. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
