A man wanted on a warrant for a Class A drug charge out of Androscoggin County apparently escaped 353 Middle Road in Dresden Saturday, Nov. 28 after Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies arrived, Lt. Brendan Kane said. Nathon Taylor, 41, of Wiscasset remained missing, Kane said in Monday’s phone interview. 

Deputies arrived about 1:45 p.m., knocked on the trailer’s door and identified themselves, Kane said. “(Those inside) refused to come to the door, so (deputies) surrounded the house and set up a perimeter. We attempted to call the people out of the house for several hours. Eventually, the State Police tactical team was called. When they arrived, they reinforced the perimeter” and attempts to call the people out of the house continued; the tactical team used tear gas, Kane said.

“Several people came out of the residence,” but Taylor was not among them, Kane said. After more attempts to call Taylor out, authorities searched the home; he was not there, “but information was developed that he had snuck out when deputies initially arrived (or) were setting up.”

One of the people who emerged from the home, Lynzi Rogers, 37, of Vassalboro was arrested on a Cumberland County warrant for failure to appear, Kane said.

Dresden Fire Department helped by keeping Middle Road closed in both directions near the home, for about six hours; and Wiscasset EMS “staged, in case they were needed,” Kane said. The state tactical team did an exemplary job, Kane said. The scene was cleared about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, he said.
