A little rain doesn’t stop Lighted Boat Parade
The rain in Maine ... didn’t stop the Boothbay Lights’ Lighted Boat Parade on Saturday evening, Dec. 12.
Eight decorated boats circled the inner harbor twice as spectators braved the steady rain to watch from the shore. Those who did not brave the rain got to watch it live on Boothbay Region TV’s website and Facebook page. The lighted boats were escorted by a Coast Guard vessel and the Harbor Master’s boat.
Judges announced Lil Sistah (Lawrence Durfee) won first prize, followed by Jamma, Jamma (Mike Vanderveen) in second and Shore Thing III (Andy Carter and the BRHS Class of 2021 Project Graduation) in third. First place won $300, second, $200 and third place, $100. Other entrants got $50 for participating. Other participants included Clarice (Bigelow Laboratory/Tim Pinkham), Satisfaction (Andrew Hawke), Pagan Moon (Alan and Judy Boyes), Brandy’s Girl (Corey Pottle) and Eldia (Robbie Campbell/Campbell Marine).
The judges included Kat Pinkham, Mrs. New England, Ambassador 2021; Chelsea Chapdelaine, World Ms. Universe Tourism 2021; and a mystery judge at the Tugboat Inn.
