Dresden talks new fire truck, has Zoom trouble
Dresden selectmen on Tuesday, Dec. 22 discussed the performance of the town’s snowplowing firm, Seabreeze. According to information Town Administrator Michael Faass provided, there were minor issues with four complaints over the last large snowstorm, but “nothing of serious note.” The board voted to release the December payment.
Due to difficulties with an HDMI cable, the board was unable to carry the meeting on Zoom.
According to Faass, Sherry Moody was appointed sexton of Forest Hill Cemetery. The board also reaffirmed authorization to use the services of town attorney Jessica Avery in the matter of Ballard Road Town Way.
Fire Chief Steve Lilly submitted information on a possible new fire truck that would replace two older models, including one from 1979. The board discussed that the town would have to approve the expenditure and may need to sell the two older trucks to have a better idea of the final costs for the new truck. Faass will follow up with Lilly. Gerald Lilly reported things are going well at the transfer station and one of the staff, Dave Everson, will be returning to work soon with a doctor’s note after an injury at home.
In other business, Faass is getting quotes from cleaning services to clean the town office every other week. He also reported there have been six calls recently about commercial marijuana. Because Dresden has not opted into the Adult Use Act, only medical marijuana ordinances are in effect.
The next regular meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 5 over Zoom.
