Wood: SRO planned for Wiscasset again
Wiscasset Superintendent of Schools Terry Wood announced in Tuesday night’s school committee meeting, the school department will tap American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for a school resource officer.
The SRO job lost in the municipal budget vote in June.
Wood’s written report to the committee states in part: “Our (ARPA) grant has been approved and we have budgeted a school resource officer for the next two years. I am working with the town manager and police chief to see how we can contract services through the town and when this position will start.”
More coverage of the meeting to follow.
