Atlantic Captain's Academy will be conducting a Coast Guard approved captain's course at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath starting on Wednesday evening, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. Classes will meet for three hours once a week on Wednesday evenings for 18 weeks.

The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels, or OUPV, class is 56 hours of classroom instruction. The course is divided into four sections; Navigation General, Chart Plotting, Rules of the Road and Deck General. All materials and testing is included in the cost. Testing will be done in the classroom. Students will not have to take any tests with the Coast Guard.
