Maloney for Wiscasset selectman
Dear Editor:
Bill Maloney is running for Wiscasset Select Board on a platform of fiscal responsibility as well as the protection of the historic charm and character of Wiscasset.
Bill has served on the Wiscasset Budget Committee for a number of years. As a former resident of a suburban Chicago town, he spearheaded and managed multi-million dollar projects and is well versed in assessing costs associated with town projects, on both maintenance and on prospective new ones.
Billed as “The Prettiest Village,” the beauty and charm of Wiscasset does not need to be “enhanced” or changed because it already exists in the lovely historic homes and buildings. Visitors from all over the country come here to experience the charm of a quaint New England town, shop in our local village shops and sample local cuisine. Bill understands that in order to preserve this character, Wiscasset must balance wants and needs while being mindful of the costs to its resident taxpayers.
As everything, from food to gas to heating oil becomes more and more costly, we all have to be mindful of how our decisions today impact the future of Wiscasset.
A vote for Bill Maloney is a vote for Wiscasset's future.
