Two hospitalized, no serious injuries in Route 1 crash

An accident snarled traffic on Route 1 in front of Shaw's Supermarket in Wiscasset about 11:15 a.m. Aug. 3.
Sigurbjorn Gislason, 38, of Topsham, was driving north in a 2008 red Chevrolet Colorado pick up truck. Marilyn Norcross, 83, of Wiscasset, was driving south in a silver 2002 Volkswagen station wagon.
Norcross attempted to turn into Shaw's, driving in front of Gislason, according to Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
Sigurbjorn and Norcross were both transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There was extensive damage to both vehicles.
