There are so many great things happening at The Lincoln this weekend and into next week! You can still catch the film comedy “Phantom of the Open” about the world’s worst golfer starring Mark Rylance (Don’t Look Up). And you won’t want to miss Jodie Comer’s spectacular performance in the National Theatre Live presentation of “Prima Facie,” receiving glowing reviews for her West End stage debut in the one-woman play. And next week, get ready to ooh, aah, and laugh out loud because Cat Video Fest is back on the big screen. There are so many reasons to head to the theater.

The Phantom of the Open (PG-13; 1 hour, 46 minutes) tells the heartwarming true story of Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance), a dreamer and unrelenting optimist. This humble crane operator from Barrow-in-Furness managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship qualifying in 1976, despite never playing a round of golf before. He shot the worst round in Open history and drew the ire of the golfing elite, but became a folk hero in the process and, more important, showed his family the importance of pursuing your dreams. The Only Woman in the Room tells the story of the remarkable Frances Perkins, the first female to hold the position of Secretary of Labor and a Cabinet position. Beginning as a shy, quiet girl from Newcastle, Maine, Frances became a fighter and advocate for workers’ rights when she saw first-hand the injustices and negligent working conditions in US factories in the 1920s and 30s. Her dedication to supporting the poor and middle classes, developing a social safety net, and ensuring safe working conditions changed the course of American history regardless of her being the Only Woman in the Room. Written and directed by Teralyn Reiter and produced by Storytree Theatre. Cat Video Fest 2022 (1 hour, 10 minutes): CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses. CatVideoFest is a joyous communal experience, only available in theaters, and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters to best serve cats in the area. “Watching silly cat videos is good for you.” – The Wall Street Journal. National Theatre Live presents: Prima Facie (3 hours): Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) makes her West End debut in the UK premiere of Suzie Miller’s award-winning play. Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and winning. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge. Prima Facie takes us to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game.
