LincolnHealth reports 53 new COVID-19 cases July 4-18
LincolnHealth reported 23 new COVID-19 cases for the week of July 4 and 30 for the week of July 11. The cases came from 249 tests for the former and 219 for the latter weeks. The under-18 population remains stable in the lower single digits making up for a fraction of cases over the past two months.
“We continue to see a decrease in positive cases, despite an increase in the number of tests,” said LincolnHealth’s John Martins.
As the vaccination rate continues to rise, LincolnHealth is no longer tracking vaccinated positive cases, said, Martins. Percent positive of vaccinated cases made up an average of about 71% from the beginning of April to mid-June.
Martins said while the Maine Center for Disease Control maps still show Lincoln County transmission rates as high, community levels remain low.
