First Congregational hosts Blue Christmas service
For those who get the blues during the Christmas season, First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will hold a Blue Christmas service on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Many people have challenging times because of grief or loss in their lives. The service will emphasize remembrance of loved ones lost and dealing with blues during the festive season. People are encouraged to join in this special service as everyone lights candles, reads scriptures, sings and prays, and makes a place for grief and sorrow during this busy season.
Those looking for comfort, hope, wholeness and renewal will be led by the pastors for a time of quiet reflection, sharing and meaningful words, all shared in the good news of “God with us: Immanuel!”
