'Severe' injuries from accident at Island work site

A Westport Island man was rushed to the hospital after falling about 10 feet from a ladder onto stairs Aug. 7.
James Cromwell, 41, was reportedly working on a house on the Sortwell Road on Westport Island when he fell. His injuries appeared to be severe but not life-threatening, Wiscasset Ambulance Service personnel said.
A LifeFlight helicopter was called in to transport Cromwell to Central Maine Medical Center.
