Looking toward beautiful Westport Island
We are excited to be able to start covering Westport Island selectmen’s meetings again, as often as possible and as timely on the reporting as possible. The town’s selectmen’s meetings are now carried live on Zoom, like Wiscasset’s, Alna’s and some other towns’ are. So we have for you in this edition and at wiscassetnewspaper.com, some noteworthy, timely items to read about, financial and environmental.
Westport Island has been and is excellent about emailing announcements that help us keep readers up to date on local government and other news. That has been a big help and is greatly appreciated. And now we or anyone else in the public gets to tune in live, like we were doing a couple years ago when the board met via UberConference due to the pandemic.
We do not expect to be able cover every Westport Island’s selectmen’s meeting, due to limited staffing and numerous boards and committees sometimes meeting at once, along with all the other news of a week, but, between Zoom, and the story-sharing agreement with Lincoln County News our Editor Kevin Burnham tells about in his column this week – and our new ad for another news contributor for Wiscasset Newspaper – our readers stand to be further informed.
Week’s positive parting thought: To all who witnessed Katharine Martin-Savage’s service over the years to groups and the area government, let her efforts and her positivity be the example they always were, for serving and celebrating Wiscasset.
