The Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will be hosting an Emergency Preparedness Fair in Conjunction with CLC YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day at the Central Lincoln County YMCA on Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to noon. The YMCA is located at 525 Main St. in Damariscotta. The public is invited to attend.

The Emergency Preparedness Fair will provide emergency preparedness information, education, and networking to better prepare residents for any type of disaster. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about Disaster Preparedness, Self-Resilience, Sustainability, Prepping, and Survival. There will be knowledgeable presentations on communication alternatives and fire prevention. Additionally, there will be a vendor area that includes government agencies, non-profits community groups, and private businesses. Some of the vendors include – emergency management, search and rescue, amateur radio, power utilities, disaster volunteering, disaster assistance, and medical preparedness.

Presentations and vendors will be located inside the YMCA in the gym and in several classrooms. We will have a couple of emergency kits to raffle off. Outside, there will be CLC YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day with a touch-a-truck event as well as other family activities.

The goal of the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency is to build a sustainable, selfsufficient, and resilient community that comes back stronger following a major disaster event. Learn how you can be better prepared and how you might be able to help your community during a disaster.
