Healthy Lincoln County names Larissa Hannan as new director
Healthy Lincoln County has named Larissa Hannan as its new executive director, effective May 8. Hannan succeeds Kelsey Robinson who served as the director since July 2021. Robinson has accepted a new role at LincolnHealth, where she will continue to support the Lincoln County community.
"As I’ve grown in my career, I’ve identified a different trajectory I wish to take, which involves healthcare. I will always find my public health experience truly invaluable, especially my time spent working with the community in Lincoln County, the community that raised me and has continued to provide support,” says Robinson.
Hannan obtained her bachelor of science degree in community health education from the University of Maine at Farmington, as well as earning her master’s of public health at the University of Southern Maine.
She began her career at Healthy Lincoln County in the spring of 2021, working then as the Substance Use Prevention coordinator. She has since coordinated the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) education for Lincoln County, as well as playing an integral part in gleaning initiatives within the county.
“It’s been a great joy to have participated in so many of our projects at HLC. I am looking forward to continuing the amazing momentum our team has had through my new role as director,” says Hannan. Hannan is also a resident of Whitefield, where she has a small farm.
Hannan is joined at HLC by three incredible teammates, including Jess Breithaupt, associate manager of Food Security and Community Health Disparities: Breithaupt began at HLC in 2017. Now in her expanded role, she looks forward to expanding HLC’s work with families across Lincoln County, including the team’s mobile outreach to bring resources directly to the community.
Will Matteson joined HLC in November of 2022 as our Substance Use Prevention coordinator. He is passionate about both primary and secondary prevention as well as harm reduction, and making sure that the people of Lincoln County can make well informed decisions around substance use and community health.
Amy Bedard, programs assistant, joined HLC in January of 2023 and serves as HLC’s true jack of all trades. Amy not only spends a considerable amount of time on HLC’s substance use initiatives, but also coordinates the USDA Summer Food Service Program (otherwise known as Summer Meals) for Lincoln County during the warmer months.
