Midcoast Conservancy to hold ‘State of the Sheepscot’ event
Anyone interested in learning more about the health of the Sheepscot River and what Midcoast Conservancy is doing to protect it is invited to join Sheepscot River Manager Melissa Cote and other Midcoast Conservancy staff for the first ever “State of the Sheepscot River” event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Kings Mills Union Hall in Whitefield.
Midcoast Conservancy staff will be presenting on current conditions, emerging threats, and how we’re protecting the watershed. There will be opportunities to learn how anyone can get involved through Midcoast Conservancy’s river volunteer programs, and how everyone can do their part to care for the watershed.
The gathering will begin with a happy hour; light refreshments will be provided. A 30-minute presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period, and conclude with additional mingling.
The event is free and open to the public; registration is requested by going to https://www.midcoastconservancy.org/events-list/state-of-the-sheepscot.
