Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Four deer/car accidents
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 192 calls for service for the period of Nov. 20 to Nov. 28. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 10,192 calls for service.
Summonses
Nelson Cajilema, 25, of Dresden was issued a summons Nov. 24 for Operating Vehicle without a License, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.
Clinton J. Rankin, 46, of Wiscasset was issued a summons Nov. 27 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Arrest
Konstantinos M. Rigas, 35, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested Nov. 24 for Violating Condition of Release, on Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by Deputy Ethan Burns.
Accidents
On Nov. 21, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Michael Ferreira, 72, of York and Amy P. Hourihan, 68, of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Ms. Hourihan was operating her 2013 Honda Pilot southbound and Mr. Ferreira was traveling southbound in his 2006 Nissan Altima, behind Hourihan’s vehicle. Hourihan slowed in traffic and was preparing to make a left hand turn into a private driveway. Hourihan initiated a left hand turn when Ferreira proceeded to change lanes and overtake Hourihan’s vehicle. As a result, Ferreira struck Hourihan’s vehicle in the northbound lane. Deputy Mark Fortin was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 21, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Bertha C. Gardner, 69, of Westport Island. Ms. Gardner was operating her 2018 Kia Sportage southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck her vehicle, causing damage to the passenger side front corner. Deputy Scott Solorzano was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 21, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Michelle R. Heflin, 57, of Dresden. Ms. Heflin was operating her 2009 Subaru Outback northbound when she struck a deer in the roadway. Deputy Kasey Doyle was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 22, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Alan J. Kimball, 74, of Woolwich and Mark A. Lincoln, 40, of Woolwich. Mr. Kimball was operating his 2009 Toyota Tacoma northbound, preparing to turn left, and failed to yield the right of way to Mr. Lincoln, who was operating his 2016 Ford F350 southbound, causing the front corner of his vehicle to strike the front corner and driver’s side of Lincoln’s vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 23, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Aili K. Amundsen, 48, of Bath. Ms. Amundsen was operating her 2015 Subaru Impreza southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck, causing damage to the driver’s side front corner of her vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 25, an accident occurred on Egypt Road in Damariscotta involving Ciara A. Pinkham, 36, of Damariscotta. Ms. Pinkham was operating her 2014 Toyota Corolla northbound when she encountered a medical issue. As a result, she crossed the opposite lane, went off the roadway to the left, where she collided with several trees. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 26, an accident occurred on Route 27 in Boothbay involving Anna G. Stowell, 25, of Kennebunk. Ms. Stowell was operating her 2021 Subaru Crosstrek southbound when a deer crossed the road in front of her and was struck, causing damage to the bumper and hood, which was pushed in. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
