VIP meeting Jan. 2
The Visually Impaired Persons group will hold its first meeting of the new year on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 1:15 p.m. at the Boothbay Region Community Center in the Meadow Mall, 185 Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor.
Anyone with visual challenges is welcome to attend, along with their drivers and caregivers. At this meeting, group members will share their personal experiences, some helpful information about resources and adaptive equipment, handy hints, and uplifting stories.
Many of the members have found the Talking Books Program to be a lifesaver. At the Feb. 6 meeting the head of that program, Chris Boynton, will be speaking to the group about this Maine State Library offering.
For more information, call Mollie Moore at 633-3810 or Joan Stark at 633-2498. The Community Center closes during school holidays and inclement weather.
