Wayne A. Brewer
Wayne Allen “Grampy” Brewer, 77, of Bradley Road, Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2024.
Born on Dec. 19, 1946, in Damariscotta, Wayne was the beloved son of Carl “Bo” and Carrie Thompson Brewer. He received his education in the local school systems and dedicated much of his life to the concrete business, most recently working with Ferraiolo Construction in Rockland, Maine.
Wayne was known for his warmth and generosity, always traveling to job sites with a cooler full of cold beverages for anyone in need and a pocket full of treats for the four-legged friends he encountered. His love for his family was immense, and in his younger years, he cherished many vacations with his wife, daughter, and son, exploring destinations from Aruba to Niagara Falls and everywhere in between. When not traveling, Wayne could be found with a pool cue or darts in hand, showcasing his talent as a pool shark, often winning games that helped fund the family's adventures.
Wayne was lovingly known as "Grampy" and was admired for his selflessness and kindness. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back in the winter if he thought someone needed it. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anyone he encountered.
Wayne was predeceased by his son, Garrette Brewer, and his brothers, Neil and Butch Brewer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Robin Brewer of Boothbay Harbor; his daughter Stacy Pare and granddaughter Taylor Godfrey, her husband Matt, and great-grandson Oliver, all from Michigan; his son Mark Brewer, daughter-in-law Samantha Brewer of Boothbay; and granddaughter Abigail Brewer of Walpole, Maine; his brother Gary Brewer and his wife Linda; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brady’s restaurant, 25 Union Street, Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
