Winners in the September 21 Wiscasset Ambulance Service chili cookoff in Wiscasset were Roland Abbott (in the “Some Like it Hot” category) and Kristin Draper (in “Like Ma's” and “No Meat Allowed”), both of the Wiscasset Ambulance Service. “Best of the Best” went to Simpson and his son Connor. Simpson donated back the cash prize, 50 percent of the entry fees, to the Wiscasset Ambulance Attendants Association. The association put on the event as a fundraiser for the ambulance service.
