Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On August 27, Deputy Mark Bridgham received a report of theft of property at Standpipe Redemption on Mills Road in Newcastle. Missing were returnable cans. The complainant believes the theft took place after they closed for business the previous day.

Recent uniform summons and complaint

On August 23, Deputy Scott Hayden issued a uniform summons and complaint for operating while license suspended or revoked on Alna Road in Alna to Charles Wagstaff, 34, of Alna.

Recent accident

On August 24, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Allison Wood, 24, of Belfast. Wood was operating a 2002 Jeep north on Back River Road when she entered the northbound shoulder/embankment. Wood's vehicle continued forward, striking several rocks. Wood’s vehicle returned to the roadway, crossed the southbound travel land, entered the southbound shoulder, crossed a private drive and struck a tree head on. Sergeant Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
