Vote for Hunt and Harmon
Dear Editor:
Votes cast by Cameron Reny and Holly Stover are not being highlighted on their re-election flyers.
It’s important to see which bills State Senator District 13 (Reny) and State Representative District 48 (Stover) favored and ask yourself: did their votes reflect what was best for their Maine constituents?
LD 2167 – Creating an Office of New Americans – favoring taxpayer funded housing for asylum seekers while life long Mainers languish on affordable housing lists
LD 1619 - Expanding late-term abortion after viability if deemed necessary by a physician. This replaced a provision prohibiting abortion after viability except when the life of the mother was in jeopardy.
LD 1800- They voted against a Parental Bill of Rights. Apparently neither feel parents or taxpayers have a right to know what is being taught in schools or if their child is experiencing a crisis.
LD 1578 – Adopting the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact – The four electoral votes are now awarded to whichever candidate garners the most popular votes nationwide, irrespective of who the majority of Mainers voted for at the ballot box.
LD 227 – This bill creates new legal protections for late-term abortions, sex-change surgeries, and drugs for minors. In addition, it creates protections for adults who traffic children across state lines in ME in order to receive these treatments – even adults who are not related to those children. Creating a sanctuary state for gender-affirming care is the worst assault against parental rights.
Lastly, while attending local fisherman support events, wearing “save the Lobstermen” T-shirts, both candidates voted for LD 1895. This bill allows hundreds of floating 900’ tall wind turbines in the Gulf of Maine, negatively impacting the lobster fishery and marine and bird life. A stipulation of the bill requires that all construction projects be steered to unionized labor – so that excludes 90% of Maine construction workers!
It should be obvious to all clear-thinking Mainers that Reny and Stover are not working for their best interests.
Make Maine Sane Again – vote for J.W. “Bill” Hunt and Dale Harmon.
