Edgecomb selectmen decide to paint town hall next spring
To paint or not to paint was the question before the Edgecomb selectboard Oct. 1, and "to paint" was the answer. Selectmen accepted Hopkins Painting Service LLC of Chelsea's $34,880 bid to paint all four of the building's sides. Selectman Mike Maxim said Hopkins will paint the building next spring.
In other action, selectmen met with Edgecomb Historical Society which inquired about using the town hall for an upcoming event. Maxim also agreed to attend a society meeting this fall.
Selectmen heard a request from residents about making Old County Road town-owned. The board agreed to review the road along with Road Commissioner Scott Griffin prior to making a decision. The board heard from about 10 Old County Road residents in favor of the proposal.
Selectmen reached an agreement with Griffin Excavation, LLC to extend its municipal snow plowing agreement. Selectmen awarded Griffin a three-year contract beginning at $325,000 in year one with a 3% increase in years two and three.
Selectmen meet next at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the conference room.
