Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 231 calls for service for the period of Nov. 5 to Nov. 12. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 13,648 calls for service.
Summonses
Sumner C. Keith, 32, of Nobleboro was issued a summons Nov. 8 for Allowing Dog to be at Large, on Quail Lane, Nobleboro, by Animal Control Officer Allen Oliver.
Arthur G. Carey III, 50, of Newcastle was issued a summons Nov. 8 for Violating Condition of Release, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Arrests
Arthur G. Carey III, 50, of Newcastle was arrested Nov. 5 for Operating under the Influence, on Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Daniel W. West, 36, of Jefferson was arrested Nov. 5 for Domestic Violence Assault and Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, on Rockland Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Ethan Burns.
Accidents
On Nov. 5, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Kristen L. Dighton, 39, of Nobleboro and Tomas F. Dunne, 36, of Sidney. Ms. Dighton was operating her 2021 Chrysler Pacifica northbound and was attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Winslow Hill Road. Mr. Dunne was traveling behind Dighton’s vehicle in his 2010 Honda Element and due to being distracted, he did not notice Dighton had slowed to make a turn. As a result, he struck the rear of her vehicle, resulting in reportable damage. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 6, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Larry T. Kelley, 38, of Warren. Mr. Kelley was operating his 2019 Ford Fusion northbound when he observed a deer enter the roadway from the southbound ditch, striking the driver’s side of his vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 8, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Joan Day, 79, of Edgecomb. Ms. Day was operating her 2018 Toyota Corolla northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 9, an accident occurred on Borland Hill Road in Nobleboro involving Mason Woodman, 19, of Damariscotta and Gerald F. Bigelow, 70, of Nobleboro. Mr. Bigelow had stopped his 2013 Honda Civic at the stop sign on Borland Hill Road, at the intersection with Bayview Road. Mr. Woodman was operating his 2016 GMC Sierra on Bayview Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Borland Hill Road, when he advised he didn’t see Bigelow’s vehicle and struck it in the driver’s side front area. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
