Andrew L. Poore
Andrew L. Poore, 64, of Lewiston died Nov. 24, 2024 at Andwell Hospice in Auburn.
Andy was born on May 18, 1960 in Boothbay Harbor to Arthur and Leona Violette Poore. Andy grew up in Boothbay Harbor and graduated from Boothbay Region High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorably with the Seabees in the Aleutian Islands.
Andy worked as a lobsterman and fished for many years. He also worked with his brother, Willy, who owned William Poore masonry. Together, they worked on several masonry projects throughout the region. Andy eventually moved to the Lewiston/Auburn area. He worked as a supervisor for Faith Works Mills in Lewiston. He met Debra Wright and they got married in 2019.
Andy had a great love for the ocean and always enjoyed fishing off of Boothbay Harbor. He also enjoyed watching movies and reading books. He was also an excellent seafood cook.
Andy was predeceased by his parents; brother, William “Willie” Poore; and by a nephew, Ezra Poore.
Andy is survived by his wife, Debra J. Wright of Lewiston; two daughters, Chrissy Earnshaw and husband Jeff of Cinnaminson, New Jersey and Jennifer Poore of Cinnaminson, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Morgan and Hailey Earnshaw, Joshua Vrancik and Vivian Poore-Caldwell; sister, Laura Francis and husband Steve of Boothbay Harbor; brothers, Ernest Poore of Crescent City, Florida and Stanley Hanson and wife Linda of Maynard, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Kimberly Clifford, Boothbay; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Andy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Boothbay.
