Detective Terry Michaud named '2013 Deputy of the Year'
On April 4, the dining common at Lincoln Academy was once again host to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office annual awards banquet. Each year, for the past nine years, Sheriff Todd Brackett and his command staff have hosted a dinner and awards ceremony honoring staff, as well as community members and service organizations that support the mission of the sheriff’s office.
The “2013 Deputy of the Year” award went to Detective Terry Michaud of Jefferson. Michaud was commended for his “professional service and dedication to the citizens of Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.”
Michaud, a six-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, is currently assigned to the criminal investigation division. His career in law enforcement spans over 25 years with previous employment with the U.S. Air Force, Rockland Police Department and Maine State Police.
Brackett also awarded the Louis Doe Home Center with the “Outstanding Community Service Award.”
“Your business has demonstrated a willingness to contribute not only physical resources, but more importantly the human component of caring that truly reflects your commitment to our community,” Brackett said, in presenting the award to owner Louis Doe.
Brackett also announced that henceforth the award was to be named the “Judy Doe Memorial Community Service Award” in honor of Doe’s wife, Judy, who passed away this past year.
Brackett recognized two deputies with the awarding of “Deputy First Class” designations. Deputy Brian Collamore and Deputy Mark Bridgham were recognized for their “outstanding service in the field of law enforcement and demonstrated leadership ability.”
Commissioner William Blodgett, representing the Lincoln County Commissioners, joined with Brackett in recognizing Sergeant Aaron Mortensen for 25 years of continuous service with the sheriff’s office.
