Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On September 16, Reserve Deputy Thomas Hoepner responded to a report of an assault in the Southport Island area. Upon investigating the complaint, it was determined the victim did not know the three males who assaulted him. Further investigation when leads come forth.
Recent arrests
On September 12, Adam A. Poe, 25, of Boothbay was arrested for Obstructing a Public Way, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden, who was assisted by Sgt. Daniel Sceviour.
On September 13, William S. Giles, 38, of Wiscasset was arrested for Operating Under the Influence, on Pension Ridge Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden.

On September 8, Donald Oyster, 22, of Wiscasset – Operating After Suspension (civil offense) – West Alna Road, Wiscasset – Dep. Kevin Dennison.
Recent accidents
On September 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving John S. Pringle, 84, of Wiscasset and Pamela J. Farnsworth, 51, of Newcastle. Pringle was attempting to make a left turn off of the Cross Road onto Route 1 in his 2006 Mazda MPV and did not see Farnsworth operating her 2004 Pontiac in the northbound lane as he entered the roadway. Farnsworth was unable to avoid Pringle’s vehicle and struck it on the front driver side quarter panel. This caused Farnsworth’s vehicle to spin around and leave the roadway and Pringle’s vehicle to come to rest in the middle of the road. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On September 13, an accident occurred on Pension Ridge Road in Boothbay involving William S. Giles, 38, of Wiscasset and Joseph E. Roderiques, 34, of Boothbay. Roderiques had just turned right onto Pension Ridge Road from the Butler Road in his 2000 Chevrolet Tracker (southbound) and Giles was traveling northbound on Pension Ridge Road in his 1992 Honda Accord. Giles crossed the center line and struck Roderiques’ vehicle head on. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On September 16, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Maxwell W. Negley, 17, of Bowdoin. Negley was operating his 2004 Hyundai Accent southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway, struck a ditch and an adjacent lawn, causing damage to the property. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
