Everyone was outside enjoying the fall fresh air again at the Wiscasset Public Library this week for Story Hour.
"Scarecrow" by Cynthia Rylant and "Otis and the Scarecrow" by Loren Long inspired us to build our very own scarecrows next to the library’s garden.
With recycled wood frames, second hand clothing and a few straw hats, the children created two friendly scarecrows by stuffing the clothes with the abundant leaves that have fallen in the library’s back yard.
Afterwards, we all jumped and played in the left over leaves and colored pictures of scarecrows to take home.
Story Hour is on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Wiscasset Public Library Children’s Room located at 21 High Street, Wiscasset.
