Mid-Coast Audubon hosts Wild-Haven
Mid-Coast Audubon will hold its annual membership meeting on Friday, June 29, at the Farmhouse Gallery space at Round Top Farm, Main Street in Damariscotta.
There will be an hour-long live bird presentation by Wild-Haven starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by a brief business meeting to elect the Audubon Board of Directors.
Barbara and Tomm Tomlinson of Wild-Haven have been handling raptors and birds of prey and offering educational presentations for two decades. With bad jokes, silly props and live birds, nature education will never be the same.
Their program birds include a barn owl, red-shouldered hawk, red-tailed hawk, African raven and turkey vulture, all either permanently disabled in accidents in the wild, flown in falconry, or exotic species.
They will bring three or four of these wonderful avian ambassadors to the program.
There is limited seating for the bird program so pre-registration is strongly recommended. Contact Kristin at pennocks@stinpen.com or 512-2634.
The Round Top Farm is located on business Route 1 in Damariscotta just south of Round Top Ice Cream, 526 Main St., Damariscotta.
