Mary Maidl solo show opening at River Arts
The solo show “Earth, Water, Sky ... Mostly” opens on Friday, Sept. 11, in River Arts Gallery’s West Gallery. The exhibit features artist Mary Maidl of Harpswell.
Frothy waves, water, clouds, blue skies, earth, and still-life flowers are featured in Maidl's first solo exhibit opening from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 11.
The Maidl show will run through Sept. 23.
As an emerging artist who began to paint upon retirement, she draws on this new energy that comes from interacting with her canvas, mixing exciting and vivid combinations of color, and painting organized impressions of what she sees when looking at or into a particular subject.
Maidl has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts Studio in Boston and with William P. Duffy.
River Arts is located at 241 US Route 1 (north) in Damariscotta. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2p.m.
