Damariscotta-Newcastle ArtWalk returns Sept. 18
The 4th Damariscotta-Newcastle Twin Villages ArtWalk of 2015 will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 from 4-7 p.m. The event is a self-guided walking/driving tour of art shows in the towns.
The villages invite the local community and visitors to enjoy the galleries, artists and artisans, musicians, specialty shops, and restaurants. There are 22 locations open this year, many beyond their regular hours. Many are in the downtown area while others are just a short drive away. Some will have music, some will have refreshments, some will have both.
A free trolley, provided by Country Coach Charters will loop throughout the venues in 20-30 minute time intervals. The downtown trolley stop is at corner of Theater and Main streets.
Participants include: Deborah Schaefer, The Lincoln Home, Milling Around, Schooner Landing, River Gallery-Fine Art, Newcastle Square Realty Associates, Pemaquid Watershed Association, Gifts At 136, Damariscotta River Grill, Aboca Beads, Attic Heirlooms, Legacy Properties/Sothebys, Savory Maine Restaurant, Stable Gallery, Firehouse Center Gallery, Maine Art Prints by Jake Day, Kefauver Studio and Gallery, Jan Kilburn Gallery, Marnie Sinclair Gallery, Kathleen Horst Studio Gallery, Rising Tide Community Market, and River Arts.
Look for the colorful poster/maps around town, and brochures with smaller maps, including participants lists and contact information. All participants will have a yellow ArtWalk flag hanging outside.
