Driftwood doe and fawn at Stable Gallery
From May to October, The Stable Gallery features a different group of artists in the main gallery with an opening reception held in conjunction with Damariscotta's monthly art walk.
The current display features “Navi,” a lifesize driftwood deer sculpture made by artists Arielle Cousens and Benjamin Stoodley of Augusta. The pair collaborated to build life size driftwood animals, and smaller scale sculptures in a variety of media.
Cousens' horse sculptures are displayed inside the gallery, located at 26 Water Street. Stable Gallery is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 18.
The Stable Gallery has a long history of exhibiting fine arts and crafts by Maine artists and artisans of superb quality and reputation.
The gallery's goal is to give the public a broad representation of the dynamic art community in the Midcoast, and to assist artists in expanding their public exposure.
